I know it's been a very long time since I have written. We are currently one year into the Covid-19 pandemic and I haven't been able to travel anywhere for over a year. But we are slowly getting to the point where I can start to plan for a trip to Italy late this year, 2021. I am bursting with anticipation in seeing our favorite places and favorite people in Italy. I am anxious to hug our dear friend, Irene, who runs a ceramics shop in Vietri. And it will be wonderful to stay in the apartment next to Graziella and Lucia in Bassano. We'll visit our favorite markets, in Arezzo and Cortona and wander through the countryside near Lucca. And I think one of the highlights of our trip will be to walk into the Corsini Studio and have family hugs with Bruna, Cristiano and Tamara Corsini. I have missed them so much and savor the memories of the bottles of wine, loaves of bread and special salsiccia that they have given us over the years for our "picnics." And I don't want to forget about the glorious farmhouse that we enjoy near San Gimignano. Sitting high atop a hill in easy chairs, looking out over the vineyards, is one of the most relaxing things I can think of. Well, enough of daydreaming for now. Fingers crossed that this dream will all come true later this year . . . or early next year!
